Fryday, Continued

As the Festival of Fried Deliciousness continues, so does my love for my husband. Anyone who can make a meal around french fries is a fan of mine!

After breaking in the fryer with some calamari yesterday, he made fries tossed in garlic and parsley for today's treat. With mussels. Steamed in a white wine-saffron-tomato broth. Topped with bacon. Does it get any better than that?!?!

Found some delicious in this one, for sure...

My Favorite Day of the Week

My favorite day of the week varies. Most of the time, it's Saturday--right smack dab in the middle of the weekend. Today, my favorite day is Fryday. My husband, Ryan, broke out his new Christmas present--a fryer--and whipped up some amazing food over the past few days.

After getting the prep out of the way, using the fryer was pretty easy. Ryan made some fabulous clam chowder (recipe courtesy Ina Garten) to go along with a few pounds (yep, there are only two of us) of calamari.

We've committed to eating well during the week but allow ourselves to indulge a bit over the weekend. And it just so happened that Fryday fell on a Saturday! Yum!
